It is so good a book through which I learned a lot:
(1)The key to quality of life is in the compass--it's in the choices we make every day. As we learn to pause in the space between stimulus and response and consult our internal compass, we can face change squarely, confident that we're being true to principle and purpose, and that we're putting first things first in our lives.
(2)wherever we are, the best way to develop courage is to set a goal and achieve it, make a promise and keep it. No matter how small the goal or promise, this one act will begin to build our confidence that we can act with integrity in the moment of choice. It may be a matter of just getting up in the morning---putting "ming over mattress"-- or of subordinating taste to nutrition, even for a day. But as we begin to make and keep promises to ourselves and others, we take the first steps on a path that leads to confidence growth , and peace.
(3)An even greater stumbling block, and the biggest danger to our effort to become principle-centered, is pride.
(4)Ask yourself one last question: Is there something I feel I could do to make a defference??
(5)put first things first. Is it important but not urgent? if it is, just do it with courage!
